Modernized HDPE put into operation
Three days before the scheduled date for the start and four days after receiving a licence for probation on Tuesday, 18 December, HDPE plant 90kTA was put into operation and obtained the first quantity of polymer powder. Thanks to the modernization of HDPE, capacity was increased to 90 thousand tons per year with the possibility of reaching a capacity of 100 thousand tons.
"In the HDPE 90 kTA plant, the technological equipment was built in, to the highest world standards in the field of petrochemical industry. All processes in a high-density polyethylene plant are maximally automated and provide safe operation" - said the acting director of HDPE and assistant to the executive director for the production, Nebojsa Đurasović. On the modernization project of the HDPE beside the Project team and the employees of “HIP-Petrohemija " were engaged contractors “Goša Montaža" and representatives of licensing ChevronPhilips Chemicals and vendors - MRT, Inc. owing to which the plant is successfully started with operating. During the probationary phase of HDPE 90kTA, which will last for six months, it may be performed required adjusting of the process parameters, adjusting the quality of the final product and measuring the impact on the environment of the plant. After this period, by the Commission on the technical control it will be received the final report on the fulfillment of the conditions of the plant for obtaining the occupancy permit. This permit, at the request of HIP Petrohemija, issues Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning.
Investment works on increasing the capacity of the HDPE 90kTA plant began three and a half months ago - on September 1 , which is why in all the petrochemical plants was halted the production. HIP Petrohemija has restarted its work on Wednesday, December 5, primarily due to the company shareholders - NIS, and Srbijagas and Elektrovojvodina and competent Ministers Zorana Mihajlovic and Mladjan Dinkic. For the financing of the investment project to increase the capacity of the HDPE plant from its own funds was set aside 2 million 420 thousand 328 euros.
Along with the prestart activities of HDPE for cracking on the security disc separator of high pressure caused by fatigue of materials, on Thursday, 13 December there was a failure of LDPE plant production process. "Cracking at a safety disc has caused congestion on the production line in several places. The problem, for whose removal until recently was needed more time, was solved for two days so that on Saturday, 15 December LDPE returned to normal production capacity. “Thanks to the employees day and night work in extremely difficult conditions the problem is solved in record time"- said the director of LDPE, Đordje Nadeždić.
