Horizon 2020 - the largest European Union program for research and innovations, was presented on Thursday, May 7, 2015, in HIP-Petrohemija. At this meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development presented the opportunities of the European program to the representatives of HIP-Petrohemija, NIS, Fertilizer Plant and local government.
Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Prof. Dr. Viktor Nedovic pointed out that, besides the main focus on innovation, Horizon 2020 opens up chances also for the industry.
„On 1 July 2014 The Republic of Serbia entered the Horizon 2020 and the means from this fund have become available for domestic scientists, businessmen and civil sector. This is European program and the people from Europe care very much for industry to be included , i.e.that what science produces and what is improved by innovations, the next day is the product or service on the European market. The money is invested according to the given projects and topics ,and in Pancevo case, it might be directly in industry. We respond gladly and we are often guests of researchers, small and medium businessmen, as well as representatives of big industries such as HIP-Petrohemija ", said Professor Dr. Viktor Nedovic.
Special Adviser for relations with the Government of Republic of Serbia in HIP-Petrohemija, Negica Rajakov, has emphasized that the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development presented in Petrohemija the possibilities of this foundation for large companies with the aim to assist in the consideration of all options and finding out the answers to many operational issues.
"This is one more example of the significant support of the Government of Republic of Serbia, which makes efforts and provides assistance to economic entities in our country, especially enterprises in restructuring and privatization process. Petrohemija as a significant, export-oriented economic entity with the complex development policy, but also with complex business and environmental issues, is extremely interested in applying under this program since the management of the company is continuously working on reviewing all available possibilities in the direction of further business consolidation. The chance for HIP-Petrohemija in Horizon 2020 is in applications for grants that would modernize some manufacturing processes, as well as in the field of ecology "- said Negica Rajakov.
