Cancelling ecological tex relief for HIP-Petrohemija
Special Adviser to Director General of HIP-Petrohemija,Mr.Aleksej Ageev met on Wednesday,March 28,2012 the assistant mayor for economic development,Mr.Filip Mitrovic regarding amendment of the Decision on special indemnity for environmental protection and improvement.By this amendment of the Decision,which City Council adopted at the beginning of last week,there is provided release from payment of special indemnity for environmental protection for the companies under restructuring,including HIP-Petrohemija as well.On the joint press conference Mr.Ageev and Mr.Mitrovic estimated that overcoming the financial crisis is a common interest of Town Pancevo and HIP-Petrohemija.
Mr.Mitrovic emphasized that Petrohemija owes to Town on the various basis about 500 million dinar.“One of the ways of overcoming the restructuring is prevention of debits accumulation.In Petrohemija are employed 1800 workers from which 1500 are Pancevo inhabitants and by making this decision they will not have to worry about certainty of starting up the production in the company.The town is aware that at the moment Petrohemija does not have money to pay its obligations and that it must become profitable“ – said the assistant mayor.
Mr.Aleksej Ageev thanked Town administration for the support in the form of release from payment of indemnity for environmental protection emphasising that it is a great relief for Petrohemija,which on the basis of ecological tax ows to Town about million Eur.“Our aim is to raise the level of business and increase profit. Petrohemija needs modernization and I hope that this year we get into investment,first of all into increase of polyethylene capacity which is provided by the agreement signed between NIS and Government of Republic of Serbia.After that there should follow financial improvement of the situation in the company.The costs incured more than two years ago burden operating and they will be solved through conversion and write-off“- emphasized Mr. Ageev, who is expecting overcoming the restructuring in two to three years.
